A few evenings this Summer

Chef will be leading small groups of locals to the

Grunion Run in Huntington Beach, CA

If you'd like to participate, let her know via email info@newportify.com with Subject Line: "Grunion Run"

Licensed (fishing) folks can interact with the fish. Others can ONLY view!

We will be enjoying the local phenomenon & sourcing for a culinary class later in the week.

Pick one or both events: The Run & the Grunion Cooking Class

Classes will include the proper processing skills for Grunion.

Selected Nights in July - Grunion Run

Location to be provided to confirmed participants. Wear clothing that can get wet. A change of clothes is helpful. Remember a towel & a plastic bag for wet gear. Gloves may be helpful. We have outdoor shower facilities for sand and restrooms for changing to warm clothes after the event before you get into your car to go home. We will not leave the beach early unless there are no fish or every licensed person has their desired catch. Stay out late is not the vision. We will have separate event for cleaning & cooking. Catch should be frozen immediately. If you are going to touch a fish, you must have a license. See license section. Make sure you have eaten & used the bathroom before you arrive. You must be able to walk on flat land for about 5 blocks (one-way) and have removable shoes that will stay on your person.

"A small gunny sack makes a good grunion creel". We have outdoor shower facilities for sand and restrooms for changing to warm clothes after the event before you get into your car to go home. We will not leave the beach early unless there are no fish or every licensed person has their desired catch. Stay out late is not the vision. We will have separate event for cleaning & cooking.
